For us Greeks, Thessaloniki is considered to be our country’s gastronomic capital and for a good reason: with a history that consists of so many layers, it only makes sense that the cuisine of Thessaloniki would also be equally rich. Actually, Thessaloniki has been declared as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, the only greek city to achieve that.

In this Food Tour we are going to explore the cuisine of Thessaloniki and connect it to it’s history. All the people that have called Thessaloniki a home have left their mark on it’s cuisine: the Christians, the Muslims, the Jews, the immigrants. By tasting and walking together, we are going to understand how all these people shaped, not only the history, but also the food culture of this place.

During the Food Tour we are going to have several tastings, from a greek coffee to bougatsa and from a spinach pie to local meze and tsipouro. Of course, if you have any allergies or dietery restrictions you can let me know and we will adjust this tour to your needs!
