VERGINA TOUR: THE TOMBS OF THE MACEDONIAN ROYALTY

In my humble opinion the Royal Tombs of Vergina is one of the most important, interesting and beautiful archaeological sites one can visit when in Greece. Definately the most important site of northern Greece.

It is the tomb of king Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. A king that managed to unite all of Greece under his command and lay the foundation for Alexander’s Empire. A king that managed to do what even great empires like the Persian Empire didn’t manage. A king whose myth was only suprassed by that of his son, Alexander.

Of course, Philip II was burried gloriously the way the greatest King of Macedon deserved, and his Tomb is now one of the archaeological sites that are going to leave you in awe.

On this Vergina Tour we are going to learn about the life and death of this great man and visit his final resting place, admiring all the goldern, silver and ivory artifacts that were burried with him.
