VERGINA TOUR: THE TOMBS OF THE MACEDONIAN ROYALTY
In my humble opinion, the Royal Tombs of Vergina is one of the most important, interesting and beautiful archaeological sites one can visit when in Greece. A Vergina Tour is an absolute must for visitors to Northern Greece, especially for those who love history and wish to dive deeper into the history of ancient Macedon.
WHY VISIT THE ROYAL TOMBS OF VERGINA
When we talk about the Royal Tombs we talk about the tomb of king Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. A king that managed to unite all of Greece under his command and lay the foundation for Alexander’s Empire. A king that managed to do what even great empires like the Persian Empire couldn’t. A king whose myth was only surpassed by that of his son, Alexander.
It makes sense that Philip II was buried gloriously, the way the greatest king of Macedon deserved, and his Tomb is now one of the archaeological sites that are going to leave you in awe.
